Liverpool claimed a dramatic 2–1 win over Everton thanks to a very late goal from Virgil van Dijk, boosting their hopes of a Champions League place.
Liverpool took the lead in the first half when Mohamed Salah scored in the 29th minute after a pass from Cody Gakpo.
Everton came back into the match in the second half, with Beto equalising in the 54th minute following an assist from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
The game looked set to end in a draw, but deep into stoppage time, Van Dijk scored the winner in the 100th minute from a Dominik Szoboszlai delivery.

The result gives Liverpool three important points in a hard-fought Merseyside derby.
