French Euroleague team ASVEL, which is owned by former NBA ace Tony Parker, has big ambitions for the next season.
The club, owned by Tony Parker, finished last season in last place in the Euroleague with only eight wins.
However, it seems that the club decided to prevent a similar scenario from happening to them, so they will have a record budget of 20 million euros for the next season.
Former NBA ace Tony Parker has an idea to take the club to a higher level and is therefore ready to invest a lot.
His deputy, Gaetan Muller, pointed out that the club will certainly spend 20 million euros, maybe even 25, which is a significant increase compared to the season behind us.
For the 2022/23 season, ASVEL spent around 16 million euros, bringing Timothe Luwawu and thus clearly highlighting their high ambitions in the Euroleague.
Also, the club allocated more money for basketball players’ salaries than in the previous season. Before the signing of Nando de Colo and Joffrey Lauvergne, ASVEL spent a little over four million euros on player salaries, while this season it is ready to allocate almost twice as much, seven million.
In addition to all that, the club will open a new hall this year, worth 141 million euros, sponsored by the Lion football club.
The plan is for the new hall to be opened for the match of the 10th round of the Euroleague on November 23, when Bayern Munich will be visiting.
