Croatian basketball player Mario Hezonja, who plays for UNICS, denied allegations that he is joining Real Madrid.
“I did not talk to anyone personally. There were rumors that some clubs wanted me after UNICS dropped out of the Euroleague. I’m glad I didn’t go anywhere because I wanted to win the title and finish my season in Kazan. My manager did not tell me about any offers because he knew that I wanted to stay on the team. I imposed myself there as a leader, and the leader has no right to just disappear. We will see what will happen this summer, but now I am only concentrating on the victory against Lokomotiv Kuban”, said the Croat for the club’s website.
Hezonja was named the most valuable player in the VTB United League last season, and he already played on the Iberian Peninsula in the period from 2012 to 2015, when he played for Barcelona.
During his career, he also played in the NBA League, where he played for the Orlando Magic, New York Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers, and upon his return to Europe, he was a member of Panathinaikos.
