The coach of Olimpia Milano, Ettore Messina, addressed the media after the defeat in the 1st round of the Euroleague against Fenerbahce.
Milano returns from Istanbul with a defeat, with a score of 85:82. They played in Turkey without Devon Hall, Billy Beron and Maodo Lo, who will be out for some time.
“I am very proud of the way my team fought. To come here without several players, to lose after extra time, even though we had our chances, I’m proud of the character the team showed.” Messina pointed out.
Milano was behind by double digits several times, but each time they found a way to get back into the match. In the end, they turned it around, but Fener won overtime, in which the host had more power, and Mirotic missed a three-pointer for five additional minutes.
In the next two rounds of the Euroleague, Ettore Messina’s team has a difficult schedule. First, they will host Maccabi from Tel Aviv, and then Olympiakos.
