Real’s center Edy Tavares was chosen as the most valuable player of the Euroleague for April and May.
He led Madrid to a 3:2 victory in the series against Partizan and placement in the F4 Euroleague.
The strong center missed the second match of the series due to injury, and then averaged 17.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1.3 steals in the next three.
“At the end of one of the best months in the history of the Euroleague playoff series, one of the biggest stars, literally and figuratively, is going to the Final Four as MVP for April and May. Walter Tavares showed everything he can do in leading Real and coming back from 0:2 against Partizan, which helped a lot in his selection”, the explanation reads.
This is the third time that a basketball player from Cape Verde has been named the best player of the month after October 2018 and November 2021.
