The new season of the NBA League also brought new rules, that is, a slightly different refereeing criterion.
From this season, the defenders will be allowed to play defense, because new rules on playing fouls when shooting have entered.
Over the last few seasons, we have seen very creative ways to extort fouls, especially from James Harden, who is struggling a lot at the start of this season because he no longer performs 15+ free throws per game.
Players will no longer play fouls when shooting, if they are the ones who initiate contact with the defensive player, or if they stretch their legs or jump forward.
Golden State star, Draymond Green, welcomed the application of the new refereeing criteria with enthusiasm.
- I must say that I am very satisfied. Now when I watch basketball I don’t see those ****** referee decisions. Sorry to swear in the interview, but I’m very happy about that. It was a way for some players to cheat their opponents’ fouls. This year is very nice to watch basketball – said Green and added:
- I think that at one point I stopped watching basketball, because we could only see falling and simulating on the floor in order to get throws. Good things should be pointed out and this is the case – Green concluded.
Of course, we will now see situations when the referees do not play an obvious offense against the shooter, but there will certainly be incomparably fewer such cases.
How do you like the new refereeing criteria in the NBA league?
