German tennis player Alexander Zverev is already known to have been punished for causing a scandal at the tournament in Acapulco, when he had a fit of rage and hit the judge’s chair with a racket.
The German was immediately kicked out of the tournament, and then fined $20,000 for verbal abuse, another $20,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct, and more than $31,000 in tournament earnings, while some ATP points were taken from his doubles.
However, that is not all. Zverev was additionally fined $25,000 and banned from playing in any ATP tournament for eight weeks.
