Jannik Sinner produced a dominant display to beat Learner Tien 6-1, 6-2 and book his place in the semi-finals at Indian Wells, where he will face Alexander Zverev.
The world number two was barely troubled throughout, breaking Tien four times while saving all four break points he faced. The match was wrapped up in just 66 minutes, with Sinner capitalising on a Tien double fault as early as the second game to seize control and never look back. It is the third time the four-time Grand Slam champion has reached the semi-finals at Indian Wells, though he is yet to go one further and reach the final.

Zverev, meanwhile, was equally impressive in his 6-2, 6-3 victory over France’s Arthur Fils. The German became only the fifth player in history to reach the semi-finals of all nine ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, joining Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray in that exclusive company. Fils, who had impressed earlier in the tournament, grew frustrated as the match slipped away, smashing his racquet after being broken for 4-1 in the second set.
Elsewhere in the draw, world number one Carlos Alcaraz continued his remarkable unbeaten start to 2026, brushing aside 2021 champion Cameron Norrie to extend his winning streak to 16 matches. He will face Daniil Medvedev in the semi-finals, while defending champion Jack Draper, fresh from his stunning victory over Djokovic, was beaten by Medvedev in the quarters.
