Poland’s Iga Swiatek has confirmed her participation in the upcoming Billie Jean King Cup Finals, scheduled to take place in November in Malaga. Swiatek, currently ranked number two in the world, expressed her excitement on social media, stating, “See you in Malaga! I’m happy to announce that I will play in the BJKC Finals. I’m glad that I’ll play for my country and proudly represent Poland.”
The announcement comes after Swiatek’s hiatus from competitive tennis following her quarter-final loss to Jessica Pegula at the U.S. Open in September. She opted to skip the Asian leg of the WTA tour due to fatigue, resulting in her losing the top ranking to Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka.
In addition to the Billie Jean King Cup, Swiatek is set to compete in the WTA Finals in Riyadh later in November, providing her an opportunity to reclaim her number one position.
Recently, Swiatek made headlines for parting ways with her longtime coach, Tomasz Wiktorowski, and has since added Wim Fissette to her coaching team.

As the tournament approaches, Swiatek aims to lead the Polish team against host nation Spain in the opening match, bringing renewed hope and determination to her country’s campaign.
