WORLD TENNIS LEAGUE: Djokovic started well, but Zverev had a better finish

Former number one Novak Djokovic was defeated in his first match at the “World Tennis League” exhibition, which is being played in Dubai.

After one hour and eight minutes, German Alexander Zverev won in two sets, with a score of 6:3, 6:4.

The “Falcons” team was defeated by the “Hawks” with a total score of 35:27, after the rivals received an additional five points due to their triumph.

After Djokovic, the mixed doubles was played, in the first match of the day, Dimitrov and Badosa defeated Tim and Pavlyuchenkova with 5:7, 6:3, 10:4.

Right after, and before the meeting between Novak and Alexander, Rybakina was better than Sabalenka after the reversal – 0:6, 6:1, 10:6.

Although Djokovic started the match brilliantly, because he got a quick break in the first game, it did not help him in the continuation to defeat Zverev.

Alexander struggled a bit at the start of the match, but it was wasted because he was out of the field for a long time, when he sailed into the “calm port” he played several great, completely accurate points, and scored in the last game to win, when he patiently waited for Nolet’s mistake, which was punished by Alexander with a penalty kick.

While Novak will play against Nick Kyrgios in the next match, today from 18:00.
