Jannik Sinner rises to career-best ATP ranking after Miami Masters win

After clinching victory at the Miami Masters, Jannik Sinner ascended to his career-best ranking on the ATP list, while Novak Djokovic marked his 419th week atop the rankings.

In a gripping final showdown in Florida, the Italian outplayed Grigor Dimitrov, propelling him to the second spot on the ATP rankings, surpassing Carlos Alcaraz.

Sinner has been on a remarkable winning streak since the start of the year, culminating in his elevation to second place on the ATP rankings. Notably, he’s also the first Italian to achieve this feat and has secured various Masters titles, including the 2023 Toronto Masters.

With his 13th ATP title under his belt, Sinner stands as the most accomplished Italian tennis player in the Open era. In a week’s time, Novak Djokovic will celebrate his 36th birthday, making him officially the oldest world number one in the rankings.

His reign atop the rankings remains unchallenged at least until the middle of the current month. Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz currently holds the third spot worldwide with 8,645 points, followed by Daniil Medvedev in fourth with 7,165 points.

The updated TOP 10 rankings also feature Grigor Dimitrov, who, following his performance in the final, has surged to the ninth spot globally.
