Novak Djokovic says he wants to concentrate on tennis after revealing in a magazine interview that he was “poisoned” during his detention in a Melbourne hotel.
In the interview, Djokovic claimed he had been served food that caused high levels of lead and mercury in his system. Despite local reporters’ attempts to seek more details, Djokovic declined to comment further, stating he wished to focus on tennis.
Djokovic, who has won 10 Australian Open titles, was deported from Australia in 2022 over his unvaccinated status.
The Australian Border Force has not responded to his accusations.
