World Aquatics has officially announced a landmark agreement with Italy’s renowned Marmeeting event to host the World Aquatics High Diving World Cup at Porto Flavia in Iglesias, Sardinia, starting in 2025. The first edition under this partnership will take place on 30–31 August 2025.
This is the first time World Aquatics has signed a multi-year deal with a high diving host, offering stability and long-term planning for the sport. The agreement secures Porto Flavia, known for its dramatic cliff setting, as a regular venue on the international calendar.
The deal benefits both high diving and the Sardinian region. Athletes will enjoy consistent preparation and improved event planning, while the local economy is expected to gain from increased media exposure and tourism.

Orlando Duque, Chair of the World Aquatics High Diving Technical Committee, praised the partnership, calling it a major step forward for the sport. Marmeeting’s Event Manager, Franco Varese, expressed pride in welcoming the world’s best divers back to Sardinia, saying the collaboration strengthens the event’s credibility and future.
Top athletes like Romania’s Catalin Preda and Canada’s Molly Carlson shared their excitement. Carlson, named 2024 Female High Diver of the Year, said diving at Porto Flavia has always been a dream and she looks forward to sharing the experience with fans around the world.
