Gżira United moved within touching distance of the VMFA Cisk Premier League title after recording their 17th win of the season, defeating Żurrieq Wolves 7–3 in a dominant display.
The Maroons were in control throughout the match, with Sebastian Nayar and Kevin Sammut each netting a brace. Additional goals came from Ian Zammit, Justin Grioli, and Andrew Cohen. Żurrieq Wolves responded with two goals from Beppe Muscat and one from Kevin Ellul.
Gżira now hold a one-point lead over their closest rivals Floriana, who kept their title hopes alive with a 7–4 victory over Rabat Veterans. Mano Micallef led Floriana’s charge with a hat-trick, while Glenn Bonello and Malcolm Licari both scored twice. Rabat stayed competitive with goals from Adam Smeir, Gareth Magri, Andre Scicluna, and Gilbert Spiteri Lowell.
In the other fixture, Birkirkara St Helen’s overwhelmed Hibernians with a resounding 10–4 win. The Stripes showed clear intent, with Daniel Cremona scoring a hat-trick, Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza and Christian Caruana each adding a brace, and Federico Marine, Robert Perkins, and Ayrton Caruana rounding off the tally. For Hibernians, Ilia Nazarov struck twice, while Adrian Lanzon and Clayton Micallef Vassallo also found the net.
