Floriana recorded a statement victory in the seventh round of the Malta Veterans Premier League, dismantling league leaders MFPA 11–5 in a high-scoring encounter that significantly tightened the title race.
Floriana showed their intent from the outset, racing into an early lead and maintaining control throughout the match, despite MFPA’s attempts to mount a response. Floriana’s attacking display was led by Bojan Kaljevic, Diego Fernando Pereira, and Firas Aboulezz, who each completed a hat-trick, while Ryan Darmanin added a brace to cap off an emphatic team performance.
MFPA found the net through Stanimir Miloskovic, Mark Zammit, Alexander Marinkovic, Alexander Ribic, and Carlo Mamo, but the deficit proved too large to overturn. Despite the heavy defeat, MFPA remain top of the standings on 16 points, with Floriana now just one point behind. The match was officiated by Paul Apap.
Elsewhere, Gżira United Veterans edged Luxol St Andrew’s in a thrilling 6–5 contest to move closer to the league’s leading pack. The match was fiercely contested throughout, with Kurt Magro starring for Gżira by scoring a hat-trick. Sebastian Nayar, Romeu Romao, and Ian Zammit also found the net for the Maroons. Luxol’s goals came courtesy of a brace from Emerson Amaira, along with strikes from Gary Inguanez, Karl Sacco, and Glenn Bonello. Igor Kankaras officiated the encounter.
Birkirkara St Helen’s bounced back with a 5–3 victory over Hibernians. Federico Marine and Christian Caruana both scored twice, while Daniel Scerri added the fifth. Hibernians replied through a Dylan Mercieca brace and a goal by Clayton Micallef Vassallo. Igor Kankaras was once again the referee in charge.
Rabat Veterans enjoyed a dominant outing, cruising to a 7–0 win over Żurrieq Wolves. Adam Smeir led the scoring with a hat-trick, Andre Scicluna struck twice, and Luke Portelli and Andy Mangion completed the rout. Paul Apap officiated the match.
