Swieqi Phoenix Volleyball’s U17 Block ‘N Roll team have once again underlined their dominance on the local scene after being crowned national U17 champions for the eighth time in the past ten years.
The Swieqi side wrapped up their season in emphatic fashion by defeating rivals Depiro 3-0 in their final match, sealing the title with a commanding and confident performance. Their triumph was made even more impressive by the fact that they completed the competition unbeaten.
Following the match, the league championship trophy was presented by Malta Volleyball Association president Branko Vlahovic, in recognition of Swieqi Phoenix’s outstanding campaign.
Last Sunday’s decisive victory saw Swieqi brush aside Depiro’s challenge in straight sets, confirming once again the strength and consistency of the club’s youth development structure.

This latest success adds another important chapter to an already remarkable era for the club, whose youth and senior sections have enjoyed sustained success over the past decade. During this period, Swieqi Phoenix have collected ten U15 titles, eight U17 titles and nine U19 titles, establishing themselves as one of the leading forces in Maltese volleyball.
The club’s junior teams continue to benefit from the support of EY Malta, whose backing has played an important role in helping nurture young talent and strengthen the development of volleyball within the club.
Swieqi Phoenix’s latest title is yet another clear reflection of a winning culture that continues to deliver results across multiple age groups.
