Charlize Bartolo and Luke Mercieca win their first tournament after both finishing first in the 6-game qualifying round. They kept their lead during the 5 head-to-head games on the second day of the competition.
Bartolo ended the first day on top with a total score of 1119, just ahead of Marthese Cossai with 1101 and Liliana Spiteri with 1062. The other three girls who made it into the top six were Natasha Bianchi, Donna Vella, and Jade Barbara.
In the finals, Bartolo kept up her strong performance, winning 4 out of her 5 games. She stayed ahead of Spiteri, who won 3 games and finished second. Cossai dropped one place and finished third. Vella moved up to fourth, followed by Bianchi in fifth and Barbara in sixth.
On the boys’ side, Mercieca qualified in first place, ahead of Daniel Ricciari, with Matthew Muscat in third. Muscat did very well in the finals, winning 4 out of 5 games and moving up to second place, just ahead of Josward Xuereb. Mercieca held on to first place with 3 wins, while Vladimir Cvetkovic finished fourth, Ricciari fifth, and Alan Ciantar sixth.
