Lija Athletic and Sliema Wanderers secured three important points in the Fuel 10K Under 16 League after defeating Pembroke Athleta and Marsaskala respectively.
Sliema had the biggest win as they defeated Marsaskala 6-1 in a match from section A.
Marco Baldacchino, Gianluca Gauci and James Paul Friggieri scored two goals each for the Sliema Wanderers with Kelvin Pace reducing the scoring margin for the Wanderers.
Referees were Jonathan Balzan and Sara Kankaras.
Lija Athletic defeated Pembroke Athleta 4-1 in a match from section B.
Jake Debono was the star for Lija with a personal brace with Melvin Perry and Marek De Brincat also scoring.
Jamie Falzon was the author of Pembroke’s only goal.
Referees were Jonathan Balzan and Sara Kankaras.
The Fuel 10K Under 16 League continues today with the northern derby between Mosta and Naxxar at 6pm at the National Sports School Pavilion.
