The closing stages of the Maltese futsal season continue to deliver drama, key results and mounting tension as both the Premier Futsal League Malta and the Challenger League Malta move closer to their decisive moments.
In the Premier Futsal League, the headline fixture of the week saw University of Malta Futsal take on Luxol St Andrews Futsal in a much-anticipated clash at the top end of the table. Luxol emerged with an important 4-1 victory, a result that further strengthened their hold on first place while keeping the University of Malta in pursuit.

Elsewhere, Marsaskala Futsal Legends were edged out 4-3 by GZR Birzebbugia St Peter’s Futsal in another entertaining encounter. Marsaskala had managed to take the lead, but Birzebbugia produced a strong second-half comeback to overturn the score and collect a valuable three points.

Following these results, Luxol St Andrews Futsal lead the standings with 33 points. University of Malta Futsal remain second on 27, while Marsaskala Futsal Legends and GZR Birzebbugia St Peter’s Futsal are level on 21 points. Zejtun Corinthians Futsal WA occupy fifth place with 12 points. A decider may now be required to determine third and fourth place.

In the Challenger League Malta Futsal, the quarter finals also produced a clear result, with Santa Venera Lightnings recording an emphatic 7-1 win over Futsal Selection U17.

Attention now shifts to the semi-finals, where Zejtun Corinthians will face Santa Venera Lightnings on 22 April 2026, while Futsal Selection U19 are set to meet Sliema Futsal on 25 April 2026. Both matches will be played at the National Sports School.
The competition will then culminate in the final on 16 May 2026, where the two semi-final winners will battle it out for the title.
