Jesmond Caruana, President of the Malta Weightlifting Association, has been elected Vice President of the European Weightlifting Federation (EWF) with the highest number of votes. Astrit Hasan was elected as the new President of the EWF, while Milan Mihajlovic retained his position as General Secretary.
MWA member Dr. Gayle Caruana was also elected as a member of the EWF Medical Committee.
Before the election, Jesmond Caruana was honored with the EWF Golden Star Award in recognition of his significant contributions to the development of weightlifting in Malta, as well as his outstanding service to regional and European weightlifting.
The elections were held in Chisinau, Moldova, in conjunction with the European Senior Championships.
