The draw for the 2026 to 2028 UEFA European Qualifying of the 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup took place on Friday morning at the UEFA Headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. A total of forty eight national associations entered the competition as Europe begins its qualification journey.
Malta, positioned in Pot three for the draw, has been placed in Group A. The group includes host nation Denmark, as well as Andorra and Scotland. The format of the competition states that the top two teams in each Preliminary Round group will progress to the Main Round, where they will join the twenty four highest ranked entrants.
The Preliminary Round fixtures are scheduled to take place between 6 and 15 April 2026, marking the first step on the road to the 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup.
Mark Marlow, Director of the Malta Futsal National Team, together with Team Manager Manuel Cini and Press Officer Mark Attard, were present in Nyon to represent the Malta FA during the draw.
