The Phone Refix Championship for Silver category horses will conclude on Sunday, 29 March, with the final scheduled to begin at approximately 4:00 PM at Malta Equidrome. The race forms part of the day’s programme organised by the Malta Racing Club.
This year’s championship has recorded 114 registered horses, the highest number to date for the Silver category. The class continues to attract a combination of experienced competitors and horses that made their debut in Malta earlier this year, contributing to a competitive field.
The competition has progressed through 10 qualifying heats and four semi finals. From this process, 12 horses have qualified for the final, where they will compete for the championship title.
Speaking ahead of the event, Charles Zammit confirmed that Phone Refix is supporting the championship for the second consecutive year. He referred to the company’s collaboration with Malta Equidrome and reiterated its commitment to local horse racing. He also extended his best wishes to all finalists.
On behalf of the Malta Racing Club, Tony Demanuele highlighted the role of the Silver category within the national racing calendar. He noted the level of participation and its importance in providing opportunities for developing horses.
Matthew Brincat thanked Phone Refix for its continued support and stated that partnerships of this nature contribute to the development of the sport. He also wished participants success in the final.
Max Zammit acknowledged the growth in sponsorship within the sector and referred to ongoing developments in Maltese horse racing.
