Żabbar St. Patrick earned an important victory in their fight to avoid the bottom places after beating Mosta 5–3 in an entertaining match.
Prince Chibuzor gave Mosta an early lead, but Żabbar quickly responded through Bruno Gomes. Nevin Portelli restored Mosta’s advantage with a header, before Brian Gambarte equalised again for Żabbar to make it 2–2 at half-time.
Żabbar took control in the second half with goals from Im Youngwon and Pedro Santiago Cejas to go 4–2 ahead. Mosta reduced the gap through Fernandes Joaquim, but Ayom Ayom sealed the win late on with Żabbar’s fifth goal.
With this victory, Żabbar St. Patrick F.C. move up to 9 points in 10th place, reducing the gap to just two points behind ninth-placed Hibernians F.C.. Meanwhile, Mosta F.C. remain at the bottom of the standings with only one point in this round.
