Hibernians captain Bjorn Kristensen has been named the LifeStar Best Player of the Month for August after influential displays in a win over Gżira United and a draw with Żabbar St Patrick. The award was presented ahead of Hibernians’ weekend victory against Birkirkara by LifeStar Insurance chief executive Roberto Apap Bologna.
The 32-year-old midfielder has long been a bellwether for the Paola club and, after a summer of uncertainty, committed his future with a new deal. Kristensen last extended his Hibernians contract on 1 July 2025; he has been on the club’s books since 2010. Reports in late June suggested he had been weighing his options before settling on fresh terms once more with Hibernians
August’s award recognises both his leadership and end-product across Hibernians’ opening fixtures, capped by a standout performance against Żabbar St Patrick’s in which he scored and was named most valuable player. With his contract resolved and form purring, the club captain looks poised to remain central to Hibernians’ campaign.
