Barcelona captain Sergio Busquets offered the leaders of the Catalan club to terminate the contract with the team at the beginning of next year, however, coach Xavi does not want to give him up just like that.
Busquets, primarily, had the intention of terminating the contract to help Barcelona, by relieving the club of financial obligations, because the Nou Camp club has been in financial problems for years.
Spanish media claim that Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez prevented the termination of the contract with Busquets and insisted that the team captain stays at the club until the end of the season.
Xavi wants Busquets to lead Barcelona again next year, but it will be very difficult to do, given that the player has already expressed his desire to join Inter from Miami.
Thirty-four-year-old has been a member of Barcelona since 2005 and won 30 trophies with the Catalan club. He played 696 games for Barcelona’s first team and scored 18 goals.
