Inter thrashed Atalanta 4-0 at San Siro on the third matchday of Serie A, temporarily securing the top spot with 7 points, level with Torino.
The Nerazzurri opened the scoring in the 3rd minute when Marcus Thuram’s cross was deflected by Djimisti and found its way into the back of the net. Just seven minutes later, Nicola Barella struck a stunning first-time shot to make it 2-0 for Inter.
Thuram added the third goal just two minutes into the second half, and he sealed the game in the 56th minute with a close-range finish.
Earlier, Torino won against Venezia 1-0 at the Stadio Pierluigi Penzo in Venice with a late header in the 86th minute by Saul Coco. Torino now are joint 1st place with Inter with 7 points.
