Roma made it 72 wins against Torino in Serie A as they secured a 2–0 victory, keeping their run of 17 straight away games without a draw.
After their Coppa Italia exit against Torino in midweek, Roma started quickly. Despite having most of the early possession, Torino struggled to create chances. The game changed midway through the first half when new signing Donyell Malen looked to have scored on his debut, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
Roma didn’t have to wait long, though, as Malen scored soon after. Paulo Dybala set him up inside the box, and Malen calmly finished into the far corner to give Roma the lead. Torino offered little going forward before half-time.
Torino made a change at half-time, bringing on Cesare Casadei, and he nearly created a chance straight away. Cyril Ngonge broke through, but Evan Ndicka made a crucial last-ditch tackle to stop him shooting.
Roma seemed happy to protect their one-goal lead, but Dybala made sure of the win just before the hour mark. His first shot was saved, but he followed up to turn in Gianluca Mancini’s cross.
Roma could have added more, with Malen hitting the side netting, while Torino’s best chance came late when Che Adams shot just wide.
Roma kept their third clean sheet in a row for the first time this season and moved three points clear in the top four. Torino, meanwhile, suffered their fifth defeat in six home league games.
