Juventus moved up to fifth in Serie A with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Bologna at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, marking their fifth victory in six games across all competitions.
Bologna started the match confidently and nearly took the lead when Riccardo Orsolini’s close-range chance was brilliantly saved by Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio. Juventus grew into the game as the first half went on, with Weston McKennie missing a close-range header and Jonathan David having a goal disallowed for offside. Bologna also went close when Nadir Zortea hit the crossbar.
The breakthrough came shortly after the hour mark when substitute Juan Cabal headed in Kenan Yıldız’s cross to score his second Serie A goal of the season. Bologna’s task became even harder soon after when Torbjørn Heggem received a straight red card for a foul as the last defender.
Juventus controlled the rest of the match, with Loïs Openda coming close to scoring as Bologna tried to respond. The single goal proved enough, as Bologna suffered consecutive home defeats for the first time since January 2022.
