Manchester City earned their third consecutive away win as they beat Crystal Palace 3-0, extending their unbeaten run at Palace in the Premier League to 11 matches.
The game started slowly, perhaps due to City’s midweek European match, with few clear chances in the opening 15 minutes. Crystal Palace had an early opportunity when Adam Wharton played Yéremy Pino through, but his shot hit the crossbar after City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma made an early dive. Palace also went close when Ismaïla Sarr crossed for Jean-Philippe Mateta, but the striker couldn’t finish.
City gradually took control, with Phil Foden curling a free kick just wide. The breakthrough came when Erling Haaland rose highest to head in Matheus Nunes’ cross, putting City ahead.
After the break, Palace tried to respond, with Wharton hitting the post from distance. City nearly doubled their lead when Tijjani Reijnders’ effort was saved by Dean Henderson. The second goal came from Foden, who ran through the Palace defence and fired into the bottom corner.
Palace pushed for a late goal, making a substitution to try and get back into the game. However, they were caught out at the back, and Savinho was fouled in the box. Haaland calmly converted the penalty to complete City’s 3-0 victory.
The win keeps City close to Arsenal at the top of the Premier League, while Palace remain just outside the top four.
