Robertson: They were a much better team, they had enough space to do whatever they wanted

The captain of the Scottish national team and Liverpool’s left-back Andrew Robertson after the convincing defeat of the Reds against Napoli points out that the result is realistic after the poor performance of Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Liverpool players lost away from Napoli with a score of 4:1 in the first round of the Champions League.

“We left them so much space. You can’t come to a match like this and not have solid lines. They were a much, much better team than us. On countless occasions, they had enough space to do what they wanted. In a Champions League match, you can’t be so open and leave all that space. We will have to go back to the basics,” said Robertson.

The left-back of the English club points out that the team deserved this result and that this is a warning alarm that they need to improve as soon as possible.

“We deserved this defeat and this result. We stood on the field in such a way that it looked like they had one more player. You have to be ready to fight. We were nowhere near ready today. We have to wake up. And we have to do that as soon as possible, we can’t play like this,” concluded Robertson.
