Christian Eriksen had to adjust to a special training regime due to a heart attack at the European Championships during the match between Denmark and Finland, and the Danish national team player Yussuf Poulsen recalled the horrible scenes.
Then, with the quick reaction of the doctor, the midfielder’s life was saved, and when his condition stabilized, Christian Eriksen underwent surgery.
Yussuf Poulsen recalled an ugly scene in the 42nd minute.
- When we all stood around him, at that moment we were all afraid to watch him die. I still remember what we all whispered or thought in our heads – please get out of this and survive – said Poulsen and then added:
- It was difficult because you immediately remember everything again. If that had happened to him in his living room, he wouldn’t be with us today. Thank God it turned out like this so we can all talk more or less normally about it, because it’s an essentially positive story. Many people died when they found themselves in Christian’s situation. He was lucky that it happened at the match and that he had medical help at his disposal that could react immediately and bring him back – said Poulsen.
