YoHealth Malta Premier – Closing Round

Hibernians…………….2

Żabbar St Patrick…..1

Hibernians continued their strong run of form by recording a third consecutive victory with a 2-1 win over Żabbar St Patrick. The result extended their recent positive momentum ahead of next Tuesday’s Super Cup final against Ħamrun Spartans at the National Stadium.

The match offered limited clear cut chances, with Hibernians making the most of their first meaningful opportunity. Brazilian forward Cleiton opened the scoring by placing a low shot past the Żabbar St Patrick goalkeeper.

Żabbar attempted to respond, while Miullen came close for Hibernians seven minutes before the interval, seeing his driven effort narrowly miss the post.

Hibernians strengthened their lead in the second half when they were awarded a penalty. Mailson converted from the spot to double the advantage and put the Paolites in control of the contest.

Żabbar St Patrick remained competitive and reduced the deficit in the 71st minute. Pedro Cejas finished from close range to give his side renewed hope.

Hibernians, however, managed the closing stages effectively and preserved their lead to secure all three points, maintaining their winning run as they look ahead to the upcoming Super Cup final.
