The captain of Russia will not join the national team!

The captain of the Russian national football team, Artem Dzyuba, will not join the national team in the training, which will start on March 21.

The selector of the Russian national team, Valeri Karpin, revealed that he cannot count on Dzyuba during the gathering of the national team for the March training camp.

“On Sunday, we talked to Artem by phone, he assured us that, as he said at the meeting, he really wants to play for the national team. But now he can’t because of the difficult situation in Ukraine, where he has many relatives, he apologized and asked for family reasons not to invite him to this gathering. We agreed to stay in touch with him and to follow his performances for Zenit “, said Karpin.

Besides Dzyuba, there will be no Vyacheslav Karavaev, another Zenit player.

The Russian national team was supposed to play in Moscow on March 24 with the selection of Poland in the semifinal match of the playoffs for the World Cup.

FIFA and UEFA have suspended the Russians, so now everything is in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
