Regardless of the fact that some media reported that Christian Atsu was pulled alive from the ruins, the search for the Ghana national team player is still ongoing, Volkan Demirel confirmed.
Volkan Demirel, the former legendary goalkeeper of the Turkish national team, and now the coach of Super League Hatajspor, said in a statement to AFP that Christian Atsu has not yet been found after the catastrophic earthquake in Turkey and Syria that claimed thousands of lives.
“The news I have is not good, he has not yet been found under the rubble,” said Demirel.
The Football Association of Ghana recently announced that the former representative of that country was found after the earthquake, and that he is in the hospital with a leg injury and difficulty breathing.
Atsu, former player of Everton and Newcastle, arrived in Hatajspor in September, and recently scored the first goal for this club in the triumph over Kasimpasa.
