Three players sealed their places at the 2026 EBA Nations Cup after winning their respective finals during Tour 3 of the competition.
The National Blackball Federation held another successful finals night at the Juventus Club Vero Amore in Malta, with three high-quality finals played across different categories. The standard of play once again highlighted the strength of the local blackball scene.
In the Under-23 final, Steven Muscat claimed victory after a tight contest, edging past Matthias Debono 10-8. Both players showed great consistency, but Muscat stayed calm in the closing stages to secure the win.

The Men’s final also finished 10-8, with Gary Carr getting the better of Wayne Pace. The match was evenly balanced for long spells before Carr’s experience made the difference late on.
In the Seniors 40+ final, Chris Tabone delivered a strong performance to beat Shawn Galea 10-4. Tabone took control early and never allowed his opponent back into the match.
As a result, Muscat, Carr and Tabone have all booked their places in their respective Malta National Teams for the 2026 EBA Nations Cup, which will take place in Gibraltar from April 9 to 19. The National Blackball Federation praised both the organisation of the event and the level of competition as preparations continue for the international tournament.
