FIFA World Cup 2026™ ticket demand breaks all records

Demand for tickets for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ has reached unprecedented levels, with more than 150 million ticket requests submitted so far during the Random Selection Draw phase.

At the halfway stage of the current sales phase, fans from over 200 countries have already applied for tickets, making this the highest demand ever recorded in FIFA World Cup history. Based on verified credit card applications, the tournament is currently oversubscribed by more than 30 times.

The figure is also 3.4 times higher than the total number of spectators who have attended all FIFA World Cup matches combined since the tournament began in 1930.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the response highlights the global appeal of the competition.
“The FIFA World Cup 2026 is set to be the greatest and most inclusive show on the planet,” Infantino said. “The incredible demand from fans around the world shows just how much the game is loved globally.”

The FIFA World Cup 2026™ will take place from 11 June to 19 July 2026, across 16 host cities in Canada, Mexico and the United States. A total of 48 teams will compete in 104 matches, making it the largest World Cup in history.

The Random Selection Draw ticketing phase will remain open until Tuesday, 13 January 2026 at 17:00 CET. The timing of applications does not affect the chances of success, as all ticket requests will be entered into a draw once the phase closes.

Fans who are unsuccessful in this phase will still have further opportunities to purchase tickets during later sales phases. Ticket prices will remain unchanged throughout the current phase.

FIFA has also introduced a Supporter Entry Tier, offering tickets at a fixed price of USD 60 for each of the 104 matches, including the final, to make the tournament more accessible.

Tickets can only be purchased through FIFA.com/tickets, the official source for World Cup 2026™ tickets. Fans may also apply for national team supporter tickets through their respective Member Associations or opt for hospitality and travel packages for a premium experience.

As a not-for-profit organisation, FIFA confirmed that more than 90% of its revenues from the tournament will be reinvested into the development of football worldwide, across men’s, women’s and youth programmes.
