Ħamrun 147 A and Qormi Pinto A have taken an early lead in the first leg of the National Easter Trophy. Ħamrun beat Mrieħel Billiard House A 12-8, while Qormi won by the same score against Cospicua Rangers A. The second leg will be played later this week to decide which teams move on in the knockout competition.
In the Regional Easter Trophy, Qormi Pinto B recorded a big 21-7 win over Selmun Sports Club A, and Ħamrun 147 B defeated PL Balzan A 21-12. San Ġwann Tiki Taka Spartans also advanced, beating San Ġwann Tiki Taka Boys 21-14 in the derby. Later this week, Spartans will play Qormi Pinto B, and Żebbuġ St Joseph A will face Ħamrun 147 B over two legs.
Meanwhile, in the Community Easter Trophy, PL Floriana and San Ġwann Tiki Taka Buddies both won 21-10 against Siġġiewi Montekristo C and Selmun Sports Club C, respectively. Ħamrun 147 D also progressed after a 21-11 win over Birżebbuġa St Peter’s A, while Birkirkara Boċċi recorded a 21-0 victory against Birkirkara Juve. In the next round, Ħamrun 147 D will meet San Ġwann Tiki Taka Buddies, and Birkirkara Boċċi will play PL Floriana.
