Former Barcelona basketball player, 30-year-old Pierre Oriola, agreed to cooperate with the Spanish club Girona, where he will spend this season.
After being fired from Barcelona, he became a free agent and joined Girona, where he will be accompanied by the legendary Marc Gasol, who is a player and president of the club.
Oriola had a contract with Barcelona until 2024, but it was terminated, as Oriola stated, at the request of the club’s professional staff.
Pierre moved to Barcelona back in 2017, when he arrived from Valencia. For his services, the Catalans paid a million euros in compensation.
He spent 5 years in Barça, once was the champion of Spain, and even won the King’s Cup 4 times. With the Spanish national team, he won the world championship in China in 2019, as well as the bronze medal at the Eurobasket in Turkey in 2017.
