Nikola Jokic speaks out about his decision to switch from Nike to the Chinese sneaker brand 361

Denver Nuggets superstar and last year’s finals MVP Nikola Jokic recently signed a shoe deal with Chinese footwear brand 361° after ending his partnership with American company Nike, as reported by Nick DePaula.

During his entire career in the most popular basketball league in the world, the Joker wore Nike sneakers, specifically favoring the Nike Zoom GT. After 8 years, he makes a transition with the Chinese footwear brand 361°, as well as his teammate Aaron Gordon, who has been in partnership with the brand since 2020.

The debut of Jokic’s new shoes took place in Toronto, where Denver won 104-113. He explained why he chose to go with a relatively unknown Chinese footwear brand instead of Nike:

”I’m excited to announce my partnership with 361° and join another team of champions. The 361° team’s passion and commitment to performance and competition spoke to me. We’ve already been putting the time and work together to bring my first signature shoe to life. It’s been a fun journey. Together, we’re going to bring more passion to the game in ways people have never seen and share it with people worldwide. The Deal Is Done.”

This is not the first time that the NBA superstar has chosen a lesser-known company over Nike. For example, before Jokic, Steph Curry and Kyrie Irving opted for rival brands, such as Under Armor and the Chinese brand ANTA.
