The Denver basketball team secured a 112-108 road victory against Miami last night, putting an end to the Floridian team’s series of eight consecutive home wins.
Denver maintained its lead throughout the game after taking control in the early stages of the third quarter, clinching their 40th victory of the season.
Nikola Jokic, the Serbian center, delivered a double-double performance for the winning team with 27 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists. This marked Jokic’s 40th double-double of the season, with only Sacramento’s Domantas Sabonis (who has 44 double-doubles) ahead of him.
Michael Porter Jr. contributed 17 points and six rebounds for the visitors, while Bruce Brown Jr. fell just one point short of Porter’s total.
Unfortunately, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon could not take the floor for Denver due to injuries.
Meanwhile, Miami’s Jimmy Butler was one assist away from achieving a triple-double, tallying 24 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists. Max Strus added 23 points and seven rebounds, with Bem Adebayo notching 19 points.
With 40 wins and 18 losses, Denver maintains its position as the leading team in the Western Conference, while Miami sits in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings with 32 wins and 26 losses.
