Bill Simmons, a former member of ESPN, founder and journalist of “The Ringer”, believes that the Serbian center Nikola Jokic is the MVP of the NBA League for this season.
Nikola Jokic was last year’s MVP with 26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game on average, with a shot from the game 60% and played each of 82 games in the 2020/21 season.
“The main thing this season is that Jokic is the best, and no one is talking about him. He averages 26/14/8 at 57% of the game, is on the verge of 57/40/80 percent of the game and his team is almost 33-25, one win less than Philadelphia.
As we enter the All-Star break, he is without a doubt the MVP for me. I see that the majority has him in third place behind Embid and Antetokounmpo, but in my opinion, he is the MVP “, said Simmons.
He also referred to Jokic’s team:
“Look who he’s playing with: Aaron Gordon, Will Barton, Monte Morris, Campazzo…”
This season, the Serbian center is scoring 26 points, 13.8 rebounds and 7.9 assists and is currently leading in the MVP race, ahead of Janis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embid.
Jokic has the highest PER in the history of the NBA League and the biggest difference in history in the defensive and offensive ratings.
