LUWAWU ON JUDGES: From the beginning of the Eurobasket, they have no idea what they are doing!

Luwawu and France somehow managed to pull themselves together and, thanks to the stupidity of Cedi Osman, make it to the quarterfinals of the EuroBasket. Although the game was really at a great level – the referees were not.

And that for the first time in this championship, as pointed out by former basketball player Mega, and today a member of the Atlanta Hawks NBA team, Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot.

The French player was most irritated by an unsportsmanlike foul on Cedi Osman at the end of the first 40 minutes. Fortunately, the Turk missed both and breathed new life into the French.

But that certainly does not change the impression that the referees are not at the level of one of the strongest European championships in recent decades.

– As I said in the group stage, from the beginning of the competition, the judges are not good, they are not constant, they have no idea what they are doing. And that’s what all the teams think, I talked to former teammates from other national teams and they all share the same attitude. But that’s how it is.

Luwawu tried to briefly analyze the duel with the Turks.

– We panicked a little, lost balls, didn’t play defense, we were in a bad series, but we knew we had to play hard, that the game was long and we did that. Rudy played great, he helped us a lot and in the end we are happy with the victory. We have to correct the lost ones, to lose them less because it often happens that we have many more of them than the opponent. Today we had +14, we should have maintained that difference, to go to 20-25 differences, but we got carried away, started losing balls, didn’t play defense and our game fell apart. We managed to pull ourselves together, we talked at the time-out, we understood what we had to do. We have great basketball players, many of them played well.

In the next match, Luwawu and the team will face the better of the clash between Serbia and Italy.

– We are very excited about the quarterfinals, we have time to prepare. Whoever will be our rival, we are waiting ready – concluded Luwawu.
