After two seasons spent in Zalgiris, the French center Joffrey Lauvergne will continue his career in Asvel, and the Frenchman does not forget his former club Partizan.
Joffrey Lauvergne, along with Youssoupha Fall, will be the main option in the center position, and the former Partizan player says that he really liked the Asvel project and that he can’t wait to play together in the team with Nando de Colo.
“I signed because this project is great. I am happy to return to France. The goal is to reach the Euroleague playoffs, and that’s why we have a strong team. The arrival of de Colo and my arrival are proof that the club wants to change its status. The goal is to reach the Final Four and that convinced me,” said Lauvergne.
He also compared his two former clubs, Zalgiris and Partizan.
“Lithuanians are calm and respectful, while in Serbia people have a different way of expressing their feelings. However, everyone follows basketball. This is impressive for French athletes. In Serbia as well as in Lithuania, everyone knows who you are. That’s great if you’re a foreigner. As for Zalgiris and Partizan, in Zalgiris I experienced to a lesser extent what I experienced in Partizan”, said the French center.
