Athleta’s foreign import Kurt James is the BOV Basketball 1st Division Player of the Month for November 2024. Depiro’s Janai Crooms won the award for the Women’s competitions while Starlites Kai Fabri won the individual award for the BOV Amateur League.

6’5 American Kurt James, who joined Athleta from Starlites at the beginning of the season is a versatile player who can play all positions. James was the BOV Basketball 1st Division League top scorer during November with 169 points in 6 games (28.17ppg). Averaging 35 minutes of play per game during November, James also tops the best rebounders list of the season with 14.40 per game along with 2.6 steals and suffering an average of 6.17 fouls per game.

25-year-old Rwandan/American Janai Crooms won the award for the Women’s division. The Rwandan international who averaged 19.5 points per game during November pulled no less than 55 rebounds in 4 outings accompanied by 11 assists and 11 steals during the month.
Starlites’ 16-year-old shooting guard Kai Fabri won the individual award for the BOV Amateur League. With 65 points in 4 games (16.25ppg) to his name, which included 9 treys, Fabri spent the most time on the court in his division averaging 33.16 minutes per game.
Ernest Agius, Chief Officer at Bank of Valletta presented the winners with a custom-made trophy at the Ta’ Qali Basketball Pavilion.
