Finnish basketball player Petteri Koponen ended his playing career after elimination from Eurobasket.
The Finns were stopped in the quarterfinals by losing to Spain 100:90 in Berlin, and Koponen, who was one of the leaders of the Finnish team for years, ended the match, which would turn out to be his last, with three points.

After the defeat against Spain, Koponen confirmed that it was his last match, and that he was done with his national team career.
- I am happy with how far Finnish basketball has come. When I started my playing career, we were in Division B, and now we are in the Top 8. The future of our basketball is bright – Koponen said.
During his career, the playmaker played for Tapiolan, Virtus Bologna, Khimki with which he won the Eurocup, Barcelona, Bayern, Reggio Emilia and Helsinki.
Another Finnish veteran Sean Huff, who at the age of 38 was the captain of his team at the Eurobasket, ended his career.
