Zalgiris reached an agreement with Makvitis for the 2022-2023 season!

Zalgiris Kaunas will start next season with a new coach, and according to BasketNews, the team from Lithuania has reached a multi-year agreement with Kazis Makvitis.

Kazis Maksvitis will replace the current head coach of the Kaunas team, Jure Zdovc, who will finish the 2021-22 season in Kaunas.

The 44-year-old coach is currently the selector of the Lithuanian national team, with whom he will spend preparations for Eurobasket during the summer.

Makvitis started the season in Perm, where he has been the coach of Parma since 2019. However, he left the club after the clashes between Russia and Ukraine began.

Zalgiris started the 2021-22 season with Martin Schiller on the bench, but the coach from Austria was fired in October.
