Ben Simmons who plays for the Brooklyn Nets, according to the club, will have to undergo back surgery to treat a spinal disc herniation.
“After numerous consultations with back experts, it turned out that the best option for Ben’s long-term health is to undergo surgery,” the club said in a statement.
He was traded from Philadelphia to Brooklyn in February.
However, due to back problems, he did not play any games for the new team.
