Morocco booked their place in the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations for the fifth tournament in a row after a convincing 3-0 win over Zambia in Rabat.
After dropping points against Mali in their previous match, the hosts needed a win to secure qualification and made a strong start. Ayoub El Kaabi opened the scoring after nine minutes, finishing from close range after a cross from Azzedine Ounahi.
Morocco doubled their lead midway through the first half when Brahim Díaz continued his good form, scoring his third goal of the tournament after being picked out inside the box by Abde Ezzalzouli. The hosts went into half-time firmly in control.
El Kaabi added his second goal shortly after the break with an overhead kick. The goal was first ruled out, but VAR confirmed he was onside and the strike stood.
With qualification all but secured, Morocco made several changes and the pace of the match dropped. Substitute Achraf Hakimi came closest to scoring a fourth, but the score remained 3-0.
Morocco will now wait to see who they face in the knockout stage, likely one of the best third-placed teams. Zambia, meanwhile, finish bottom of the group with two points and are eliminated.
