Wimbledon has announced that players will be able to challenge certain decisions made by the chair umpire for the first time this year, thanks to the introduction of new video review technology.
The system will allow players to request a review on specific judgment calls, such as whether a ball bounced twice or touched a player’s racket or body. Importantly, players will not be limited in the number of reviews they can request, and there will be no restrictions on challenging electronic line calling decisions made by the ELC system, which was already introduced at Wimbledon last year.
The technology will be available on six show courts, including Centre Court and Court One, throughout the entire Championships. On the other show courts, it will be available until all singles matches on those courts have been completed.

Wimbledon organisers also confirmed that visual indicators will be added to scoreboards across all courts, clearly displaying “out” and “fault” calls from the electronic line calling system.
This year’s Championships get underway on 29 June.
