After the match, Stefanos Tsitsipas, visibly disappointed but also honest, admitted that Novak Djokovic is one of the greatest who ever held a racket in his hand.
“Novak, I don’t know what to tell you, everything speaks for itself, what you do for our sport, what you have achieved so far. It’s all in the numbers. Congratulations. Not only for yourself, but you also have the support of your family, we grew up in tennis similarly. I admire you for everything you have done for tennis and you make me better when I am with you on the court”, began Tsitsipas and continued:
“I had the privilege of playing many high-intensity matches. Novak brings out the best in me. It is one of the biggest in our sport. In fact, he is the greatest ever to hold a racket in history!”
“I didn’t do this, but I would like to thank you for pushing our sport so far, every individual, and pushing to the maximum”.
Then he commented on the match.
“It’s not easy to lose another final, but I always want to return to the field, to work hard, to train on this trip as well. I am grateful to have a group of people who support me and wake up every morning with the same ambition as me. I am honored to have this as a life calling. I also thank the fans from Greece who support me”.
In the end, he thanked the hosts.
